My New Earth Art

I took this photograph because it almost appeared to be a shrine of some sort. I like it, its another photograph that I can't just describe why I like it but I just do.

I liked how the branches stood up
almost like a barrier. They appear to be reaching
up and look as if when the grow enough will
curve over this wall. Its almost like
a hand grabbing this wall.

This was also found near the wall in the same ally,
this reminds me a tipi and I thought it looked cool
because I don't think it was intentional.

This photo graph was taken in an ally right off harrison street. I liked it because the paint was pealing and some plants have started growing both underneath and above it.

Urban decay...the beauty of art is in the eye of the beholder...it's like the wall is daring you to peel another layer away to see what is hidden from view...like it's wearing a formal mask for society and only a chosen few will have enough courage to peel the mask away and stare eye to eye with the destruction humanity has caused with progress without conscience..

I really like the photos of the wall. It reminds me of the video from class where the artist dug a square of land and took the pictures and laid them out as a background. Just the look of the peeling of the wall made me think of all the photos that he had as the backdrop. I really like how rugged and decayed the wall looks because it fits in with the earth. I also agree with the first comment that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, because I could probably pass this and not think anything about it... but now that you have photographed it I really like it and think its great!
