Final Project Unedited

Originally, I hoped to create a false sense of time, however I could understand how seeing the color might have a better effect. So I am adding some of the photos before I made them sepia or black and white, as well as some photos I hadn't previously posted.

I really loved these photos. I too wanted to do my final project on the beach but do to time and location etc, I didn't. I loved the picture of w/ the clocks especially because when i'm at the beach i feel time isn't important and endless. I also liked the last pic w/ the pic of someone in the military, did you know them?

These photos definitely have a different effect. I do like how the sepia and black and white tones give a false sense of time (they even remind me of Jake Galle's videos of the ice cutting and covering the tree with snow). However I think these photos are even more interesting because the viewer sees that they are taken today. It is an unusual but interesting combination of old precious objects with modern times. The photos are not just visually interesting but hold a lot of metaphors.

Hey Chelsea those are really, really sweet! I like the second one from the top with the pictures leaning up against the net on the beach...it looks strangely nostalgic somehow. The shoe pic is cool too...someone else in class did some great work with some money, acorns, and shoes too! Great job!

Nice piece Chelsea - the repetitive movements relate your work to the ideas and text nicely. I enjoy the nostalgia approach - when doing so its always best to have those stylized images accompanied by something more documentative ... nice work.
